Anthropic Reduces Claude Code Usage Limits

According to a report by BleepingComputer, Anthropic has announced a 17% reduction in the weekly usage limits for Claude Code. While the company claims it will permanently increase the standard weekly usage limits by 25% for Pro, Max, Team, and seat-based Enterprise plans, the reality is that users will experience a decrease in their usage. Currently, under a temporary 50% increase, users have a weekly limit of 150 units, but starting September 14, this will drop to 125 units. Although users will have 25% more usage than before the temporary promotion, it represents a 17% reduction compared to their current usage. Anthropic noted that the usage of Claude can vary based on factors such as conversation length, model choice, tool usage, and effort level, meaning that the weekly allowance does not translate into a fixed number of Claude Code prompts.
